Download & Upload Flow Configuration
With this new feature, users can now download their Flow configurations as encrypted local files, from a source Integration and effortlessly upload them to another Integration.
You can find more information in our support documentation here: Downloading & Uploading Flow Configurations
Why we made the change
One of the biggest feature requests we received from users was the ability to clone or replicate the configuration from one Flow to another. This helps remove manual data entry and is less prone to errors when copying configurations from one flow to another.
Upload File to Flow Configuration via Your Browser
Within the Chain.io portal you now have the ability to upload a source file directly into its respective flow’s settings. Uploading a file within a flow’s settings will automatically execute the flow and process the newly uploaded file.
Why we made the change
By introducing this functionality we reduce the need for our users to have to go to other applications, outside of Chain.io, to push data to a Flow. This feature also reduces the need to re-configure Flows as often or create additional Host Systems within the Workspace.
This update removes the need for our users to have to go to external applications to upload and test files with their configured flows. This enhancement also reduces the amount of touchpoints when users want to test flows and their respective files.
Improved Flow Configuration Sidebar
Within the Flow configurations screen we have updated the sidebar to include Actions that users need to interact with their configuration. The actions added to the sidebar include:
- Save - Save the current flow configuration
- Versions - See a list of previous and current versions of the configuration
- Run File(Beta) - This action allows the user to upload a file to the Flow configuration via the browser
- Download Configuration - This action allows the user to download the current version of the configuration as an encrypted file to be used as an uploaded Flow configuration in another Flow. See above feature
- Flow Schema - This action allows the user to view the Flow configurations JSON schema.
Why we made the change
Flow configurations require quite a bit of customization as well as flexibility when setting up your automatons. Our latest Flow configuration features, listed above, produced UI elements that required a more ergonomic solution for all the actions we wanted to provide our users. This new navigation contains all actions needed for setting up your Flows
Updated Workspace Landing Page - BETA
We are testing out some improvements to our user interface and user experience. Specifically in this release we have added a beta version of a new Workspace Landing page.
This new layout expands the functionality of the Integrations list by displaying the Flows within each of your Integrations. We also added the ability to quickly jump to your Integration Settings and Flow configurations right from this area.
Why we made the change
We are always looking for ways to improve the experience of finding what you are looking for quickly and efficiently. These updates to the Workspace landing make it easier to get to the heart of your workflow within the Chain.io platform, saving you time and directing you to relevant information instead of having to hunt for it.
